I guess it pays off to “start from the bottom.” Check out this episode of Cool People with Cool Jobs with Jasmine Kim, the Sales Manager for designer eyeglass company, Oliver Peoples.

I stumbled upon this fun and quirky artist named, Misaki Kawai during one of my video catch up sessions on YouTube this weekend. An artsy transplant from Japan, Misaki’s work is whimsical and has a child like vibe that captures your attention and makes you smile.
Don’t believe me? Check out the below images.

After strolling through my blog (yup, I do that sometimes), I realized that I haven’t done many photography posts, which is quite strange since it is one of the many things that I’m interested in. There are so many photographers whose aesthetic I admire and the one I wanted to share with you this evening is the work of Tim McGurr aka 13th Witness. 13th Witness is a Native New Yorker whose photos are raw and intimate at the same time. I love his style of photography because he chooses to look at the “big picture” – literally. His love for architecture and landscapes is what initially drew me to his work.
Below are a just a few of my recent favorite photographs, as well as a short video courtesy of I Am Other on 13th Witness’ background.

Like most people these days, I follow a slew of people on YouTube looking for cool projects, inspiration and even hair styles. Well, now I’ve discovered this fun-tastic DIY show called Club Chrissie. Club Chrissie, is hosted by Chrissie Miller, fashion designer, DJ and creative. In my opinion Club Chrissie is what would happen if Martha Stewart Living and Pee Wee’s Play House had a baby. You can subscribe to the iamOTHER YouTube channel to see more Club Chrissie.
In the episode below Chrissie puts a cute spin on key jewelry. I posted a quick pic of my finished piece as well. Enjoy!
In November of last year I discovered SoulPancake.com and I just had to share it with you guys. You can check out that post here. SHOUT OUT to Ms. Sophie and Nina G. for sharing the same enthusiasm for Soul Pancake as I did.
Well, they are at it again! Soul Pancake is launching their very own YouTube Channel on July 23. You can expect the same thought-provoking and positive interaction that you find on the site but just through creative video.
Below is the Soul Pancake Channel Launch Campaign Video. Check it out 🙂
Hey you guys!!!!! (I watched The Goonies recently and I can’t stop saying that) I am off my blogging break and although it was a much-needed break, I missed blogging. So I’m jumping right back in.
For my first official Fall 2011 post, I’m going with artist, Natalie Irish. In order to understand the level of her creativity you must check out her site and read her bio. She does ceramics, she even designs cute clutches and clothes, but I discovered her through her paintings and the unique way that she creates them – she uses her lips. Nope, you didn’t read wrong.
Here are a couple of videos of Natalie in action. I like how she does a little skit before she gets down to business. You gotta appreciate people who don’t take themselves too seriously. You’re not going to believe the final visuals!
The videos are courtesy of Workshop Media’s YouTube page.
I wanted to have a little fun, so I tried Natalie’s technique to see if I could do it. Here’s my attempt. Props to Natalie because this is hard to do. Can you guess what I tried to make? There’s a subliminal hint in the picture.
